There is a time for everything

Museum Studies graduate. Art History and art museum nerd. music enthusiast. literature lover. social media junkie. I work in the education department at an art and history museum. This blog is what my heart and brain look like.

Ah, love, let us be true to one another! for the world, which seems
To lie before us like a land of dreams,
So various, so beautiful, so new,
Hath really neither joy, nor love, nor light,
Nor certitude, nor peace, nor help for pain

Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.

I cry a lot because I miss people. They die and I can’t stop them. They leave me and I love them more.

Love the simple things.

Love the simple things in life because they are the only constants. Everything else is ever changing. A blossom on a tress, the wind on your face, or the light shining through the trees will always be there. Take solace in the eternal and open you heart to the possibilities of change. Even when your heart is surrounded by fear, surround yourself in the simple things.

To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.
